Swim4Purpose | S4P Adds New Tools For Stroke Development
  • S4P Adds New Tools For Stroke Development

This year S4P will introduce some new tools for you to use in the development of your stroke.

The first is the S4P version of the “halo”…a dry land tool specifically for teaching and development of muscle memory for the allusive Early Vertical Forearm (EVF) and High Elbow Catch. My version has a bench with stretch cords attached to a pull-up bar above you and allows you to simulate the catch and pull of the stroke. I’ve also added a mirror in front of the bench so you can “see” AND “feel” what this looks like. We can change tensions based on the cords we use. Fred Hviid tried it and gave his 5 star rating!

Secondly, I will be adding a small mirror to the bottom of the pool and making use of a tether so you can see yourself swim in place. This is an experiment that should have very positive results…..soon to be delivered.

Last…but never least…I will be adding an analytical software tool to my underwater videos this year called “Stroke Lab”. It allows a much greater degree of feedback analysis to your stroke with many drawing tools and angle calculations and will make the videos even more meaningful.

Looking forward to a great season!
